Anne Nye Workshop Results
These are the two completed pieces from the Anne Nye workshop. She is not only a fabulous instructor, but is willing to share her knowledge and experiences in marketing and promoting your work. She provided so much insight into what to look for in galleries, online services that work and others not so much, and pricing work. What an incredible wealth of information.

Anne Nye landscape Frit Painting Workshop
First day of the workshop at D&L Art Glass Supply. Anne Nye's frit painting method is dramatically different than Donna Serafis' in that it relies on bold color interaction with no light transmission. Now to see if I can find a way to blend the two methods into bold translucence.

Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts Exhibit
Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts the morning after Patron's Night
Calaway and Young Cancer Center
I am pleased to announce that Cherry Tree in Spring sold last night at the Patron's Night in the first round of bidding! A wonderful affiliate of the hospital purchased my piece and he and his wife seem thrilled at their acquisition :) I want to personally thank them for supporting my work, the arts and those who are traveling the cancer journey. It was a magical night. Thank you Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts and the Valley View Hospital Foundation for making it all possible.

Business Card Tray and Holder
A client recently asked me to do a couple of business card holders for a graduation gift in order to decide which would be the better fit. I did a stacked glass mountain scene with skis as a tray and a columbine flower in an upright display style. These turned out being tremendously fun to make (once I got the firing schedules correct) so I think I will make some more with various themes. We will see how they do at show....hmmmm.

Grand Junction Art & Jazz Festival this weekend:)
If you are in and around Grand Junction this weekend, plan on stopping by downtown GJ and taking in the fabulous music, great art and local libations. I will be displaying again this year, so stop by and give me a shout out if you happen by! Dawn Sudmeier is joining me this year with her lovely and sparkly glass jewelry. Look for the Aspen Light Glass Studio banner!

Inspired to Heal Exhibit
I just got the call--Cherry Tree in Spring made the cut! I will be in the Valley View Hospital Foundation art exhibit and fundraiser for the purchase of artwork for the new Calaway and Young Cancer Center. The piece will hang in the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts throughout the month of June. Patron Night is scheduled for June 8th where art patrons will pledge purchase of their favorite art pieces, which will be donated to the new Cancer Center with plaques denoting the patron and artist.
I am just so grateful to have my piece chosen for show. As many of you know, I dedicated this piece to the healing power of art, and I just hope that it will be able to fulfill its destiny and provide strength and comfort to those seeking hope.

Kaleidoscope Light
The Creative Paradise large triangular casting mold produces the most interesting opportunity to make kaleidoscopic patterns in glass. By combining opaque and clear glass, it makes a perfect back-lit display piece. My husband wants to take it to work, and I told him he can buy it for market price just like anyone else:)

Here is a link to the site...http://www.xanadugallery.com/Art/ArtistGallery.asp?ArtistID=2386. I will also post a link to the guide when it goes live.
